This schedule can change based on specific needs. During the 28th to 35th weeks, appointments are every two weeks, and then every week from 36 weeks until the time of delivery. Patients can expect to have a prenatal appointment every four weeks during the first 28 weeks of their pregnancy. A urine sample may be needed at every clinic appointment. HIV testing and Neural Tube screening are also offered. More testing is done at specific times during the pregnancy (ultrasound at 16-18 weeks and one-hour blood sugar test for diabetes at 26-28 weeks). ![]() Blood typing, blood count and a urine test are also done. Lab Studiesĭuring the first prenatal care visit, our patients are screened for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and Hepatitis B. Self-pay patients are responsible for the bill they receive from the hospital. Medicaid recipients should take their current card with them. If our patients experience an emergency after clinic hours, they can call or go to The Women’s Hospital of Greensboro or High Point Regional Health System as soon as possible. It is the responsibility of patients to cancel and reschedule any appointments they cannot attend ahead of time. If you are not sure of your eligibility for Medicaid, call the Department of Public Health or Department of Social Services to learn more. If proof of income is not provided, patients are charged full price (100% for each service). Patients will be asked to provide proof of income to determine cost of services. Patients who do not have insurance and are not eligible for Medicaid may purchase services at a reduced rate based on income and family size. A claim will be filed on the patient’s behalf and if payment is received, the patient will receive a refund. Patients with other insurance plans will need to pay for their visit in full at the time of service. We accept Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield and UnitedHealthcare insurance plans for prenatal care provided in our clinics.
